Jyoti Nivas Re-Opens for Offline Classes

Jyoti Nivas College Autonomous, a revered college in Koramangala, officially opened its gates to its students for offline classes in January of this year "Coming to college during this pandemic didn't seem like a smart choice according to me," said Swathi Srinath of 1st PECOS. "I was scared and worried about what might happen.”  Two months in, even with difficulties, the college is functioning fully to this day. "Honestly, the way college handled the offline classes during pandemic was commendable. The sanitizers in every corner would even get someone as lazy as me use it occasionally," Swathi told us, "The time table was made in such a way that few people stay at the campus at the same time, they reduced the number of people on campus which gave me a little bit of security,"

On 18th of February this year, two students from JNC tested positive. Sources informed us that the students were not officially notified of this potential outbreak, neither were there any additional measures put in place to curb it. Possibly, due to the fact that there were no further infections. Jyoti Nivas College successfully held its annual media fest Mediatron both online and offline even with the many obstacles that the pandemic brought along and expect to host many other events in the future. "We have to take extra care so it's not as fun considering that we're missing out on a lot of things" Thejaswini Roy of 1st B.sc M.sc Psychology integrated said. Many of the students, especially the freshers, share this sentiment, hoping for more life to the college next year.
